Both Panthers teams finished the regular season strong and are headed to the playoffs in their respective divisions, but not strong enough for 1st round byes. The Varsity Panthers will play tonight and Junior Varsity will play on Sunday in the single elimination post-season playoff.
The Varsity Panthers finished the regular season in 3rd place in the 9 team Varsity Silver division with 37 points and a record of 11-4-1-2. Jack Eaton (16 goals, 17 assists) and Joseph Erickson (16 goals, 8 assists) were top scorers on the season. Netminder Jack "Doc" Dockery was 10-6 on the season and led all high school goaltenders with 4 shutouts.
The JV Panthers finished the regular season in 4th place in the 10 team JV Gold division with 32 points and a record of 10-7-1-0. Michah Maldonado (18 goals, 11 assists) and Max Honeybone (19 goals, 8 assists) were the top scorers on the season. Goaltenders Kaleb and Ryan Perez provided most of the time in net and combined for 9 wins and 6 losses on the season.

JV vs. Grapevine/Colleyville, 2/25 Sun, 6:30P, DPSC McKinney
The Varsity Panthers continued their winning ways with a 5th straight win on Thursday, while the JV Panthers returned to the win column Sunday after having lost 3 of the previous 4 games.
Varsity played last place Plano Senior who has yet to win a game on the season and has been outscored 63 goals to 12. PESH contributed to that deficit, scoring 4 unanswered goals in the 1st period on the way to an 8-0 win. Goals scored by Filo (3 goals, 2 assits), Eaton (2 goals, 4 assists), Davison (1 goal, 2 assists), Rhile Woertink (1 goal), and Lightfoot (1 goal). Jack "Doc" Dockery got the win stopping all 20 shots sent his way. Plano East is currently in 2nd place with 18 points behind Denton County (19 points) and ahead of Grapevine/Colleyville (15 points), but both teams have a game in hand over PESH, having only played 7.
The JV Panthers had a tougher time with 5th place Allen on Sunday. The teams traded goals in the first period (Tutka scored for PESH) and 2 goals in the 2nd period with the scored tied at 3 going into the final frame. PESH struck first in the 3rd period, only to see the score tied again less than 2 minutes later before Maldonado (4 goals) scored the go-ahead and Honeybone (1 goal) the insurance goal at the 8 and 6 minute marks respectively. Wallery stopped 17 of 21 shots for the win. Plano East is in 6th place with 11 points, still only 3 points behind 2nd place Plano West, and 13 points behind 1st place undefeated Jesuit.

As has been the case most of the season, the Varsity Panthers were short-benched with 10 skaters (2 forward lines, 2 defensive pairs) when they took the ice last night at DPSC Farmers Branch. Also, as was the case the previous week, they found themselves way behind in shots on goal. But, also as was the case last week they emerged victorious with a decisive 8-0, 3rd period runtime win over the Cowboys.
Jack Eaton (2 goals, 1 assist) scored his first of 2 goals at the 13:07 mark of the first period and, as it turned out, it would be the only goal needed for the win. But not before Panther netminder Jack "Doc" Dockery stopped a total of 31 shots. Additional goals were scored by Lightfoot (2 goals, 2 assists), Joey "Jet" Erickson (1 goal, 3 assists), Gus Solis (1 goal, 1 assist), Nathan Turner (1 goal, 1 assist), and Reese Woertink (1 goal).
The Panthers are currently in 2nd place in the Varsity Silver division behind Allen and ahead of Grapevine/Colleyville who both have a game in hand on PESH.
Next Varsity action will be on Thursday, 10/26, 9:00p at DPSC Plano (US) when they take on the aforementioned Grapevine/Colleyville club.
